Location

KOALA RESCUE Inc is based in Adelaide, South Australia, and provides a free 24/7 koala rescue service across the Adelaide metropolitan area, the Adelaide Hills, and the Mt Lofty Ranges.

Team

Our team of rescuers, carers (all approved permit holders), and hotline operators are 100% volunteers, dedicated to the well-being of koalas. Our focus is always on what is best for the koalas in our care.

Volunteers

Comprised of highly experienced volunteers, our team brings a wealth of knowledge about the challenges facing local koala populations. Koalas are under increasing pressure from climate change, habitat loss, and disease, all of which contribute to their declining numbers.

Network Sharing

We are part of an extensive information-sharing network, partnering with Adelaide’s leading koala treatment clinics and veterinarians. This ensures that koalas receive the best possible care, assessment, and treatment outcomes.

Education

KOALA RESCUE Inc also provides educational services for veterinary practices looking to improve their skills in koala care, as well as for schools and community groups, helping to raise awareness and expand knowledge of koala issues.

Release Program

Whenever possible, we release koalas back into their original territories, in compliance with the regulatory requirements of the Department of Environment and Water, South Australia.
